Sergeant Sweeney's remains had been kept in Belgium as an unknown soldier until identified by DNA testing. He was buried on Oct. 10th with full military honors in Calverton National Cemetery.
On Tuesday Oct. 10th a funeral service was finally held for Sergeant Bernard J. Sweeney Jr., the 22 year old who gave his life for this country during WW 2. The funeral was provided by Alexander-Rothwell Funeral Home of Wading River.

Scott's Pointe is a new theme park in Calverton, NY on Long Island. The park has undergone a major transformation and is now set to become a premier destination for indoor and outdoor fun. The park's centerpiece is North America's largest indoor surf pool, which will allow guests to catch a wave regardless of the weather. Other attractions include an in-lake Aquapark, rock climbing walls, Formula One racecar simulators, laser tag, and bumper boats.
The park also features a 12-acre lake with stunning views, as well as an upscale restaurant with a menu featuring Italian, Latin, and French cuisine.
